Eau des Merveilles Bleue, Hermès’ maritime dream

In 2012, the Hermès house created a perfume conceived as an open door to the marvelous. This one was called the Amber of Wonders and brought a new outlook on the surrounding world, like the one we have during our first days of life and that we marvel at everything. Also, in the continuity of the development of its perfumed collection, Hermès decided to create a brand new section called Eau des Merveilles Bleue. If the Amber of Wonders was an earthly resin, the Blue Water of Wonders, on the other hand, takes us more to the maritime side. So, will you be one of those with sea legs?

The tender and magical bottle of Hermès

Usually accustomed to sobriety, it seems that the house of Hermès has this time opted for more originality. Indeed, the brand has chosen to present us the Eau des Merveilles Bleue in a round bottle with a particularly atypical base. In reality, this one displays the same silhouette as its predecessors from the Merveilles collection. This bottle is never placed vertically. It is cut like a tumbler. Its atypical shape only increases its appeal. Its bluish color, meanwhile, is absolutely intriguing. No one can say whether this bottle refers to the sea or the beautiful sky. Indeed, although it contains a maritime smell, this juice is dotted with a starry constellation. This mix of genres only reinforces its dreamlike aspect.

The aquatic and emotional scent of Eau des Merveilles Bleue

Eau des Merveilles Bleue is a perfume that we owe to the new exclusive perfumer from Hermès: Christine Nagel. She succeeded the talented Jean-Claude Ellena in 2014. Since that day, she has tried to perpetuate the heritage of Hermès while adding her personal touch. However, it is precisely in her childhood memories that Christine Nagel plunged back to make this perfume. Hermès’ ambition through this juice was to arouse wonder. Reading this lens, Christine Nagel recalled the moment she saw the sea for the very first time. She remembered in particular the pebbles wet by the sea and the mineral and salty smell they had. From then on, she decided to take inspiration from it to make this perfume. So even if the recipe for Eau des Merveilles Bleue is quite simple, it is nonetheless fascinating. This fragrance is loaded with emotions and gives rise to a real thrill with each of these breaths. Eau des Merveilles Bleue is a perfectly balanced juice, capturing the magical scent of the ocean against the immensity of the sky. It is an invitation to live a daydream.
