Daniela Andrier

Daniela Andrier is undoubtedly one of the most elegant figures in perfumery. It displays a Hitchcockian beauty associated with a particularly refined look. Also, it is in the image of its perfumery and its formulas are then perfectly suited to sublimate its natural beauty. The love of smells by Daniela AndrierWhile some perfumers claim to have felt a kind of gift for their future profession very early on, this was not exactly the case for Daniela Andrier. She says that when she was little she was sure everyone smelled the same way she did. So even though she took an interest in smells and scent early on, she was convinced that this was quite normal. Even today, she keeps in mind many olfactory memories of this period.

She remembers, moreover, the scent of myrtle from her baby cream, her grandmother’s Miss Dior, her aunt’s Chanel No. 19, the smells of her vacation in Italy … still in her memories that she draws her inspiration. Likewise, when her uncle died, she liked to immerse herself in smells reminiscent of her person. It was through the scents that she was able to reconnect with her memories and her emotions, as if nothing had broken on the day of her death. On the other hand, as a child, she did not know that the profession of perfumer existed and it was not until much later that she took this path. In reality, this young German woman began by planning to study philosophy at the Sorbonne, in Paris, a city she joined while she was 13 years old and did not speak a single word of French. It was then the fruit of a meeting that led her to wonder …

Daniela Andrier’s career

While studying literature, she met a person at a dinner party who said that she would have loved to be a perfumer but that chronic sinusitis prevented her from orienting herself in this direction. This sentence had the effect of a real bomb on her! She realized then that this was the job she had always wanted to do. The next day, she took the directory and called the brand Yves Saint-Laurent to ask for possible remedies to become a perfumer. It was there that she learned about ISIPCA, one of the best perfume schools in the world. However, to integrate it, it is essential to have a high level of chemistry that it did not have. On the verge of giving up her project, she then met Jacques Polge, perfumer from the house of Chanel, through a friend. This opened the way for him to perfume and allowed him to do an internship in his laboratory as well as another with Robertet. This then enabled her to join the Givaudan perfumery school, a company that she has never left and for which she still works today as a master perfumer.

Daniela Andrier is a designer who likes to use perfume to take us on a journey through time. A fragrance is always, according to her, a common thread between the past, the present and the future. Although not lacking in audacity, according to her, the perfume must always provoke a feeling of déjà vu evoking memories. Among his most famous creations, you should know that we owe him, in addition, Infusion d’œillet de Prada, Miu Miu from the eponymous brand, Le Monde Est Beau by Kenzo, Angélique Noire by Guerlain or Luna Rossa by Prada. name a few.
