Juliette Karagueuzoglou

In 2016, the Eau Florale de Repetto blew out its first candle. Very appreciated by the fairer sex for its lightness and its romanticism, this perfume was developed by two perfumers. One of them is as sparkling and luminous as its conception and is called Juliette Karagueuzoglou.

Juliette Karagueuzoglou’s beginnings in perfumery

From an early age, Juliette Karagueuzoglou loved to smell and describe the smells that surrounded her. In fact, she remembers some people more thanks to their smell than their appearance. However, it was at the age of 13 that she discovered the world of perfumery. Indeed, his aunt worked at Christian Dior and spoke to him about Dune, a perfume which was then on the verge of being released. Juliette Karagueuzoglou inquired about the subject and decided to make the creation of perfumes her main concern. She first discovered the nose job by reading books on perfumery and then oriented her education in this direction. She then did many internships with perfumers. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, she entered ISIPCA, a highly reputed higher school of perfumery located in Versailles, in the Yvelines. There, she spent two years as an apprentice at Expressions Parfumées, in Grasse, the world capital of perfumery. This is how she learned to recognize the main raw materials and to describe them. She also owes a lot to her internship supervisor who had her take tests every evening to make her work on her olfactory memory. Indeed, according to her, perfumers basically have a certain sensitivity to odors but above all owe their talent to enormous work. Once she had her diploma, she returned to IFF, one of the world leaders in perfumery. The career of Juliette Karagueuzoglou

When she joined IFF, Juliette Karagueuzoglou was assisting the perfumers. Then, she began to work independently on small, fairly simple projects. She then had the chance to receive precious advice from the greatest perfumers, refining both her knowledge and her thinking over time. Then, IFF sent her to New York for a one-year training course at the International Perfume School. This is how she became a junior perfumer and worked on her own projects. In order to develop these, Juliette Karagueuzoglou likes to delve into her childhood memories and makes sure to touch the sensitive chord of the greatest number. His favorite pastime is revisiting the great classics and modernizing them.

If the perfume sector does not have many women, Juliette Karagueuzoglou is one of the main players. We owe him many haunting creations like, among others, the Ultimate Man by Yves Saint-Laurent or the Eau Florale by Repetto. She says that she participates in the richness of perfumery which, according to her, is “a profession resulting from the variety of cultures, personalities and backgrounds”.
