Marie Salamagne

Azzedine Alaïa is a stylist whose universe is unlike any other. The latter dares ultra tight-fitting dresses while embellishing them with very refined materials and maintaining extreme elegance. Also, since 2015, the latter has embarked on perfumery. To do this, the talented perfumer Marie Salamagne was called upon. She then says of her perfume that it is “a first step in the universe of the creator beyond luxury”.

Marie Salamagne’s love for art

Marie Salamagne is above all an artist at heart and as such is passionate about music, painting and dance. Also, fascinated by the world of perfumery, an area combining the beauty of smells with the art of flaconnage, she decided to go to one of the most prestigious perfume schools there is: the ISIPCA of Versailles. . Indeed, the world of perfumery is quite closed and it is very complicated to enter when you are not from a family of perfumers or if you were not born in Grasse. ISIPCA therefore turns out to be one of the only gateways to the world of perfumery. At the end of this school, once her diploma in her pocket, Marie Salamagne joined the Firmenich group, a real giant in her sector and a company that she did not know.

Marie Salamagne’s passion for her profession

Marie Salamagne believes that being a perfumer is above all a job of patience and humility. It also requires a strong dose of perseverance. Nevertheless, the passion that animates her makes her an excellent actress in this universe. Marie Salamagne particularly enjoys working with woody and balmy notes. She also appreciates the smell of ambroxan, the power of patchouli and the nobility of iris. In other words, Marie Salamagne likes to use materials with a strong character and endowed with multiple facets. In fact, she explains that what interests her in the latter is above all the difficulty in using them.

In general, Marie Salamagne is recognized for her many salty and mineral creations. Having contributed to the design of Black Opium by Yves Saint-Laurent, she is also the creator of Eau de Nuit by Armani, Aqua Allegoria Laurier Licorice by Guerlain and Tokyo by Kenzo. She affirms today that each of her perfumes meets the needs of these different brands but that she has above all integrated a large part of herself, an ingredient, according to her, essential to the successful completion of a perfumed work. .
